April 2015 Presidents Report

Last week, CWA members at both AT&T Midwest and Legacy T voted overwhelmingly to authorize union leaders to call a strike if a contract can’t be reached and the CWA Executive Board has approved that action. CWA AT&T Legacy contract which includes our AT&T members would expired on April 11, 2015 at 10:00pm our time and the Company and Union agreed to extended it till April 14, 2015 12:00pm since they are making some progress but we are still Far, Far apart on some major issues. We are continuing to bargain without a Contract. There can be no business as usual. While we are still negotiating, we are very angry with the lack of movement at the table. However, we’re committed to keeping our members earning a pay check and keeping the company off balance while we continue to fight at the table and you continue to fight on the job. You can check updated Bargaining information as it comes available on line at www.cwa-union.org/teletech and www.CWAatt.com. There will be an share holders meeting at 9:00am local time on Friday April 25, 2015 at the Double Tree Hilton Spokane Center Grand Ballroom at 322 North Spokane Falls Court Spokane, WA, 99201.

We have sent the letter to the company stating we need to set up dates and times to start the process for the upcoming contract. We have 2 more bargaining units meeting before we start our bargaining with the company for MV-Transportation. Our next bargaining unit meeting is May 2, 2015 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the OTC in the safety meeting room. Coffee, fruit and donuts will be provided. This meeting will be very important as well will be electing out bargaining committee for the contract along with me and Suzie out staff rep. There will be one member from Connector and one member from the Shuttle and one alternated for each group. If you cannot make it to the meeting and will be getting nominated we need an statement in writing signed and dated a (Letter) saying stating you will accept the position. I have 2 nominations so far. It’s also very important that we get all the bargaining proposals as soon as possible so we can start compiling them. We will be taking the top 10 proposal to the company. We will be having an Bargaining Kick-off Barbeque on May 30 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Newcastle Beach Park 4400 Lake Washington Blvd SE, Bellevue, WA .We will be at site #1 there is an play area for the kids, large grassy area and restrooms. More information to come at the meeting on May 2, 2015.

We have sent notice to DGM Controls to start the process for dates and times for bargaining for our members there. The contract expires on June 30, 2015. I will be contacting the members and meeting with them to see what proposals we will be getting from them for any changes or additions and providing Coffee and donuts.

Me and Terry met with some of our members from International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employee and Motion Picture Projectionists. It was good to sit down and have some decision with them learning how they operate as that is an unite work group.
